When planting, I space rows about one foot apart to recover from enough room for cultivation of my Vegetable garden. Beet "seeds" can be clusters of small seeds in a dried acai. Some birds are definitely unwanted tourists to your organic Garden fertilisers. It may be a pesky pigeon set on devouring your cabbages, or else a sparrow hawk wanting to produce meal of garden song birds. Unwanted CDs or used foil containers are actually excellent bird scarers. Thread them on with string and hang them from trees or from the top of canes to hook the light and deter unwanted creatures.
However, cockerels can be noisy and aggressive. They crow (very) early each morning morning, which upsets the neighbours, as well as (not all) can become aggressive and attack you may. They attack by running at you, leaping airborn with a solid flapping of wings, and hitting you with their feet. The attacks could be noisy and frightening, but are harmless to adults. Young children can be hurt.
A sprinkling of soil or manure every so often, will introduce the microbes the heap should get. That's why I thought you probably already introduce them without even thinking about this. We're forever putting bits of soil inside the garden composter, attached for the roots of plants we've dug shifting upward!
